An attempt to revitalize social dialogue and national industrial relations

After having successfully applied for the Call for Proposals - VP/2014/004 entitled "Improving expertise in the field of international relations" of DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission, in December 2014 LIGA Trade Unions had the opportunity to launch its latest international research and training project titled "An attempt to revitalize social dialogue and national industrial relations systems in some of the CEECs-what we learned and best practices to get through the crisis".

An attempt to revitalize social dialogue and national industrial relations

Activities to be implemented over two years:

  • Expert and project meetings in Budapest
  • Country studies made by external experts in Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Latvia. These studies will be available in three languages (in English, Hungarian and national language).
  • National workshops for trainings and exchange of experiences for different target groups in Bulgaria, Latvia and Lithuania.
  • Summary study/Final report

The project is expected to be completed by the autumn of 2016 with a final conference for 50 people.
There are 5 countries taking part in the project. Coordination activities are provided by LIGA Trade Unions. Other participating partners are: LPS „Solidarumas” (one of the Lithuanian confederations) as co-applicant, also, Podkrepa from Bulgaria, OPZZ from Poland, LBAS from Latvia and CFDT from France as associate organizations. Also ETUC has expressed an interest in the project above mentioned activities. Up-to-date news and the country studies are available on the project own homepage www.socdial.eu.
