Conference about wage policy and wage distorsions

In Hungary, significant increase of minimum wage was introduced based on a tripartite agreement pushed by trade unions. This affects employees also in the field of public services and in state owned companies. In practise this triggered wage distortions that are difficult to handle in the public sector. To this end, LIGA, Democratic League of Independent Trade Unions with the cooperation of Friedrich Ebert Stiftung organised a Wage Conference on 9th of March 2017. In her introduction, president of LIGA underlined the importance of ETUC Pay Rise Campaign putting emphasis on common elements of wage increase demands on the European and national level.
